First day of July in Bangkok, taking a trip to the Chatuchak Weekend Market with thousands of stalls.
I didn’t get many good photos, but the scale of vendors and products for sale is mindblowing. Pretty much anything you can think of is for sale somewhere here.
Seeing Nazi memorabilia for sale in-person is unsettling in a way that is hard to describe. The vendor wasn’t selling any Imperial Japanese Army flags though 🤦♂️

Down to Phuket for some beach time
Back to Europe for 2 weeks to Europe, marking Chapter 1 of the trip as done.
I started~01-APRIL in LA, before heading -> Chicago -> NYC -> Ireland -> France -> Italy -> Greece -> Turkey -> Georgia -> Azerbaijan -> Singapore -> Thailand -> Taiwan -> Thailand.
I genuinely feel incredible blessed and fortunate to be able to travel this road.

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY 🇭🇺
Back to Budapest, after last visiting for New Years 2022.
It has a vibe and energy in summer that’s very infectiouos. Lots of tourists and localss just hanging out in the sun relaxing and vibing on life.
It was ~35 celsius most days, so the spa + baths were much needed so you could still sweat in public, but at least not feel bad about it.
Hungary also borders Ukraine, so lots of pro-Ukraine & anti-Russia graffiti / signs / flags about.
The real reason I’m here is to go catch Rammstein live.
Shows #5 + #6 on this tour, after Chicago + NYC + LA #1 + LA #2 last year.
Rammstein are a band that have been a massive part of my musical DNA since I was ~11.
Experiencing music that has lived in my blood so most of my life, at near-deafening volume, combined with the sheer scale of their live production is an incredibly powerful experience.

PARIS, FRANCE 🇫🇷 🥐
I love Paris in the summer, it’s a spectacular city year-round, but especially when the weather is good and you can just bounce around, not worrying about the rain or cold.
Managed to catch Hozier + Victoria Canal at L’Olympia, somehow finding a last minute cost-price ticket for the sold out gig at 5.30pm, right before doors opened.
Visited Versailles finally, which was choking with tourists which made it a little painful. The gardens are a nice reprieve, even through I feel I saw maybe ~0.02% of them (they cover ~2,000 acres)

Back again in the logictics juggernaut that is Qatar’s Doha International airport.
PHUKET, THAILAND 🇹🇭
Pit stop in Phuket, where Qatar somehow managed to get my bag covered in red paint.
Flghts were ~€2,500 direct to Japan, and ~€800 via Thailand 🤷♂️
SINGAPORE 🇸🇬
Flew Singapore Airlines for the first time, with a lovely window seat.
They are voted the world’s #1 airline most years.
JAPAN 🇯🇵
I don’t really have words yet for Japan.
I’m still processing WTF this country is. So much to take in, will probably wrap my head around this whole experience after a few months have passed…
Caught a gig with 3 local bands playing. Politest crowd I’ve ever been in. No singing along alllowed, and there was basically silence between songs once applause ended, out of respect for the artist’s vision.
